North of but close to Athens one finds the Oropos area, the southern Evia golf, and the island of Evia. Ideal places for vacations, long walks and swimming. This is a blog, where I present places I love, hoping that it will motivate you to visit them.

North of Athens, one may find many beautiful places for vacations, relaxation or for various activities.
The area has low tourist load, safe for the period July 15th to August 25th, when crowds of Athenian vacationers arrive. The area is ideal for those who seek beautiful, but relatively quiet places for relaxation, swimming, hiking or other activities.
There are lots of nice places, as well as beautiful small beaches and nice mountains. Athens is close, so one a day trip there is easy to program to visit Acropolis or the museums and return to the sea.
Needless to say, that the area also has a long long history and many archaeological sites, though less well known than other Greek sites.
The food is good or very good. When the weather is nice, one may enjoy his/her meal on the beach, exactly next to the water.
I live at Oropos, the largest municipality by area in the vicinity. I decided to set up this blog to present the places I like, the places I like visiting. Maybe, I shall persuade you to visit the area North of Athens.
