Beautiful flowers (Anthemis maritima) at Oropos wetlands.
It was a tiny humble hillock, that got full of beautiful flowers every spring. The flowers were mainly daisies Anthemis maritima. It was a pleasure for the eyes, a bless for the beach. It was situated between the beach and the salt pans, which are filled with water during the winter, and dry out during the summer.
The triangle hillock as seen on Google Maps.
The hillock was tiny: just 95 m2. It was situated at the point were the residents of the area go with their cars for swimming. However, it did not bother anyone, as the cars could go around.
There is no hillock with flowers any more. A bulldozer just flattened it.
The flowered hillock is no more. I can not understand who it might annoy. At some point, between 10:30 of June 12, 2019 and 10:00 of June 13, a bulldozer just levelled it.
It might sound unbelievable, but the bulldozer seems that it went there just to destroy the hillock that sprouted so beautiful flowers. How bad can the soul of he who did this be?
Yes, it is illegal.
Ναι, είναι παράνομο. Who, however, will deal with the fate of a small hillock of 95 square meters that sprouts beautiful flowers in the spring?
I just hope that this not just another step towards the destruction of the sublime Oropos wetland
